Happy New Year! The first few shows of 2018 are coming up in the back half of January, and they all feature local jazz and hip hop heads in Santa Cruz, including musicians from Beat Tape and UCSC.
Saturday, January 20th, Frequency Collective at The Helen St. Winter Mixr (Oakland): Frequency Collective is essentially our group of jazz musicians at UC Santa Cruz that jam and perform together locally in different contexts. This time, the group features Kumi Maxson on bass, Henry Wilson on vibes, Will Henlay-Dias (of Beat Tape) on keys, Jacob Gilmore on drums, Evan O’Brien on sax, and myself on trumpet. Also features art by Santa Cruz and Oakland locals! I’m STOKED about this show, it’s open invite and everyone who wants to come is welcome!
Saturday, January 20th, Beat Tape at The Crepe Place (Santa Cruz): These guys released their first album earlier this month and are taking a victory lap around Santa Cruz! I brought in the New Year with them at a gig on the 31st, and am excited to announce I’ll be with them at The Crepe Place and another house show later this month.
Message me for details on the house show!
